No Cost Marketing: Blogging
Hope all is well with you and life is good!
Here is a word you may have heard a lot about lately.
Blog.
The word blog stands for ‘Binary Log’, hence, blog.
It first appeared in 1999, an online diary, a digital journal. For the first few years of it’s existence, it was a relatively unknown phenomenon, the baliwick of geeks.
In the last few years, it has taken on a new life with teenagers using online blogs to vent their feelings and thoughts. Sad or happy, anger or triumph, whatever is on their mind went into the blog.
With such a large presence, it attracted hungry marketers. Using blogging as a marketing method has been a boon to marketers, as it it didn’t cost a penny.
So what is blogging now?
It started as an online binary log, but now the popular term is web log. In this day and age, the old school method of paper and pen diaries has become passe.
Now with the advent of the internet and the World Wide Web, anyone with a half decent computer and at least a telephone line can set up a blog.
A blog can be utilized just for fun, or used to conduct business.
Using a blog for your online business is a wonderful way to put your services or products in front of many eyes. Your online marketing efforts can be boosted through the use and help of blogging, here are some helpful tips:
A. Making your customers and clients aware of changes on your blog or website is an important detail. Announce your new affiliate websites or products on your blog.
B. Tracking your marketing and business plans and objectives will be easier, and will be seen by everyone who subscribes to your blog. Even better, this archived information is searchable by web surfers. Accessibility is a good thing.
C. Your opinions, reviews or advice on products or services related to your niche can prove to your being perceived as an ‘expert’. With a blog, you can publish with ease anytime you want.
D. To improve your page rank, back links to authority sites are needed. Well written articles will help this process. Links to affiliates can be added to your blog to earn more money.
E. Using your blog to gauge response from your readers will help in your marketing efforts. This feedback will be of immense help in improving your services and products, as well helping to determine what your market needs and wants.
F. Having good, fresh content on your blog will attract other bloggers, and they will include you on their favorites list by linking to your blog.
Setting up a blog is relatively easy to do. A couple of tips to help you get a blog set up are to obtain blogging software such as Wordpress, you can use a service such as LiveJournal, or go to www.blogger.com and sign up for free.

Hi Jimmy,
Hope all is well with you and life is good! Jimmy, we too have had our share of ‘wierd’ comments. I daresay that a majority of blogs have this problem, if not all of them.
What we do here is a 3 pass type of deal. First we go through and find the good comments, usually they are related to the posting the commenter is commenting about.
Then we go back through trash the obvious spam and such.
Then once more to make sure the job is done.
Oh by the way, there will be some comments that you will find amusing, just enough odd to post, and other entertaining comments. It is of course a matter of taste and personal choice, but you do want to keep your visitors interested in your website/blog, right? LOL!
But it isn’t a strenuous job and more often than not, an amusing one!
Hope that helps a little Jimmy.
Best regards,
